The Oakes Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Enderlin Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Oakes and four for Enderlin.
Last Monday, Oakes came up short against Sargent County and fell 44-32.
Despite the defeat, Oakes got a solid performance out of Lily Thorpe, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Oakes struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Enderlin lost to Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] on the road by a decisive 44-27 margin on Monday.
Oakes' defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for Enderlin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Everything went Oakes' way against Enderlin when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Oakes made off with a 63-43 win. Will Oakes repeat their success, or does Enderlin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
