The Salem Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 48-29 to Richland County. Salem has not had much luck with Richland County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Salem lost, one person who can't be blamed is Connor Tennyson. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points.
Salem bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Richland County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will take on Freeburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Freeburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Salem likes a good challenge. As for Richland County, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Anthony at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
