James Madison is 2-8 against South Lakes since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The James Madison Warhawks will head out on the road to take on the South Lakes Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as James Madison comes in on four and South Lakes on nine.
Last Tuesday, James Madison strolled past Oakton with points to spare, taking the game 57-39.
Meanwhile, even though Westfield scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, South Lakes still came out on top. South Lakes took their contest against Westfield 67-55. Given South Lakes' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Westfield is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
James Madison has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for South Lakes, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
James Madison came up short against South Lakes in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-60. Can James Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
