4A Region I District 3 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Randall led 4A Region I District 3 in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Dumas.
Caprock's dynamic duo of Michael Guerrero and Bustos Addison proved tough for Palo Duro to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Guerrero threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns and Addison had 146 yards receiving. Caleb Estrada helped Caprock's passing attack out by catching two balls for 44 yards.
Antaun Turner was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 271 yards on 31 carries as the Dons fell to the Dons. Anthony McClain also contributed to the rushing game with 70 yards on the ground.
Caprock's Guerrero and Addison have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Guerrero has thrown for 3152 yards this season, while Addison, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 86 catches for 1519 yards. Turner from Palo Duro leads the league in rushing with 897 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region I District 3 this week will be when Steve Parr's team takes on Canyon. The Dons are currently in fourth, while the Eagles are in second.
Palo Duro made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,845 from 2,001. The improvement was the result of 40-25 victory over Seth Parr's team last week.
