Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Clarke Prep, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 51-31 walloping at the hands of Bessemer Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Clarke Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Bessemer Academy is ranked 50th).
Morgan Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Clarke Prep, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Morgan Academy against Clarke Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 66-28 victory. With Morgan Academy ahead 39-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.
