Volleyball Game Preview: North Central Thunder vs. Warner Monarchs

North Central is 0-7 against Warner since October of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Monarchs at 7:45 p.m. Warner took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Central, who comes in off a win.

North Central extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Camryn Witlock. Everything went the Thunder's way against Wakpala on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win for which the team can thank Witlock, who had 21 assists. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: North Central took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-11, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Warner came up short against Miller on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Monarchs have struggled against the Rustlers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Warner's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: North Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Warner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

North Central might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Warner in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Thunder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
