The Xavier Prep Saints lost against the Rancho Mirage Rattlers on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Xavier Prep was beaten by Rancho Mirage 84-45. While losing is never fun, Xavier Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1062nd, while Rancho Mirage is ranked 452nd).
Despite the loss, Xavier Prep saw an underclassman step up: Paul Dreisbach scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Tre Rochin was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Xavier Prep has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Rancho Mirage, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.
Xavier Prep will head out on the road to take on Shadow Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rancho Mirage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palm Desert at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palm Desert is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
