The Enka Jets pushed their score all the way to 72 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-72 to Pisgah. Enka was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pisgah apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Sam Waddell and Isaiah Phillips certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Waddell scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds, while Phillips scored 19 points. Logan Trantham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Pisgah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Belue, who scored 27 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Belue has scored at least 25% of Pisgah's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Messer, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Enka's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pisgah, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enka will take on Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Polk County at 8:00 p.m. on November 29th. Hopefully Polk County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
