The Wendover Wildcats will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wendover is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Monday, Wendover was able to grind out a solid win over Wells, taking the game 44-31.
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Hicks' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Natalie Alvarez, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Bryce Valley suffered a rough 34-14 loss at the hands of Tabiona on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bryce Valley has scored all season.
Wendover pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bryce Valley, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Wendover strolled past Bryce Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 41-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wendover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
