The Georgetown G-Men will head out on the road to face off against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madeira took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Georgetown, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Georgetown was able to grind out a solid victory over Blanchester, taking the game 49-39.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Madeira, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 62-45 bruising from Mariemont on Friday. While losing is never fun, Madeira can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while Mariemont is ranked 45th).
Despite their defeat, Madeira saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Michael Lauterbach, who scored five points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Aj Rockwell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Georgetown's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Madeira, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Georgetown came up short against Madeira in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 51-43. Can Georgetown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
