Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stagg). They secured a 25-21 W over the Edison Vikings on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Delta Kings: when they faced off against the Vikings back in August, they had to take a 22-14 defeat.
Despite the loss, Edison still got an impressive performance from Julissa Alfaro, who rushed for 77 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards and one TD. An impressive showing, but Alfaro really ramped things up playing D: she made six total tackles and defended 11 passes in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.
The win made it two in a row for Stagg and bumps their season record up to 4-11. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-12 Chavez and 7-15 Edison. As for Edison, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
