The Immokalee Indians on the road again on Monday and play against the North Fort Myers Red Knights at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Immokalee's and Oasis' game on Thursday was close at halftime, but Immokalee turned on the heat in the second half with 33 points. Everything went Immokalee's way against Oasis as Immokalee made off with a 51-25 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Immokalee has posted yet this season.
Even though North Fort Myers has not done well against Southwest Florida Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. North Fort Myers put the hurt on Southwest Florida Christian with a sharp 51-28 victory. The win was nothing new for North Fort Myers as they're now sitting on four straight.
North Fort Myers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith MacKay, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Iten, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Immokalee's win ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11. As for North Fort Myers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Immokalee didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Fort Myers when the teams last played back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 35-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Immokalee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
