After two games on the road, Prairie View is heading back home. They will take on the Fort Collins Lambkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Fort Collins is ranked 105th).
Prairie View suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-46 walloping at the hands of Northglenn. Prairie View was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
Prairie View's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Randall Rogos, who scored 19 points along with three steals and three blocks, and Eric Allee who scored six points. That's the first time this season that Rogos posted two or more blocks.
Meanwhile, Fort Collins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Broomfield 90-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jayce King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 40 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Burkett, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Prairie View's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Fort Collins, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Prairie View have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.5 threes per game. It's a different story for Fort Collins, though, as they've been averaging only 5.9 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
