Baseball Recap: Hilton Head Island Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hilton Head Island saw some tournament action on Sunday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Andrews Yellowjackets.

Connor Wiendl looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Powers, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Jensen Boretti was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Hilton Head Island's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Andrews, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Coming up, Hilton Head Island will look to defend their home field on March 10th against Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. Hilton Head Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Andrews, they will face off against Colleton County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
