West Florida Baptist Academy has not had much luck with Paxton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
West Florida Baptist Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Olivia Pearce, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Makenna Enfinger who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. Pearce scored a full 47.1% of West Florida Baptist Academy's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hydie Varnum was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for Paxton. The matchup was Varnum's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Phillips, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
West Florida Baptist Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Paxton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
West Florida Baptist Academy will head out on the road to face off against Pensacola Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paxton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Geneva County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Geneva County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 222nd in Alabama, while Paxton is ranked 44th in Florida).
