The biggest upset of the week belonged to Oakdale, who defeated 36th ranked Governor Thomas Johnson, 35-26.
Oakdale moved up to 49 from 78 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont. Oakdale climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Patriots 35-26.
Middletown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tim Pirrone threw for 57 and 1 touchdown and Ben Panther had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Brad Rinehart contributed 88 yards. Ricky Leonard helped Middletown's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.
Panther was the best receiver in the league this week as the Knights topped Tuscarora. Panther tallied 2 receptions for 53 yards. Leonard helped Middletown's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.
Middletown's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pirrone has thrown for 237 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Mitch Sgrignoli has 7 catches for 93 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Urbana takes on the Titans. As it stands, the Hawks are in first, while Tuscarora is in fourth.
Urbana extended the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week by beating Walkersville, 42-24. The win marks fifth in a row for the Ryan Hines' team.
