The Peebles Indians waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against North Adams by a score of 50-41. This was payback for Peebles, who suffered a 48-41 loss the last time these two teams met.
Payton Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Peebles' points. Caydence Carroll was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Peebles pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Adams, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.
Peebles will head out on the road to face off against Whiteoak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Adams, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Miami Trace at 7:30 p.m. Miami Trace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 520th, while North Adams is ranked 153rd).
