The Robinson Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 14th straight defeat. The contest between them and West Potomac wasn't particularly close, with Robinson falling 70-51. While losing is never fun, Robinson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while West Potomac is ranked 40th).
Despite the defeat, Robinson had strong showings from Scott Van antwerp, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, and Benjamin Schuck, who scored ten points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Schuck grabbed two or more steals.
Robinson's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17. As for West Potomac, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Robinson will head out on the road to square off against South County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Potomac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
