Taylor County is 0-5 against Godby since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Taylor County came out on top against Gadsden County by a score of 44-34. The win was just what Taylor County needed coming off of a 65-25 loss in their prior game.
Taylor County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jershila Glover, who scored 13 points, and LeeAsia Johnson, who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Taylor County's points.
Godby suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Lincoln. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Godby has suffered against Lincoln since December 6, 2019.
Taylor County's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Godby, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
Taylor County was dealt a bruising 79-12 defeat at the hands of Godby in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Godby's Mar?nazha Houston, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.
