It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Siegel Stars can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Cookeville on Friday. Siegel has struggled against Cookeville recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Stars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Fletcher, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Cookeville was led to victory by Thomas Johnson and Blake Owen. Johnson rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Owen rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Siegel now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cookeville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Siegel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cookeville will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale is on a six-game streak of home wins, Cookeville a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
