Wabash is 8-1 against Maconaquah since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Apaches will welcome the Braves at 5:30 p.m. Wabash's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Wednesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Monday, Wabash came up short against Manchester and fell 6-1.

Cooper Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wabash saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Reed, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maconaquah). They blew past Whitko 13-6 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Maconaquah also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Deven Mitchell gave up four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Bennett Isenburg was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Gochenhour was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Maconaquah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitko only managed eight hits.
Maconaquah pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Wabash, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wabash has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Maconaquah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wabash skirted past Maconaquah 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Apaches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
