The Wahconah Regional Warriors will be playing at home against the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Wahconah Regional has not done well against Taconic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Wahconah Regional managed a 47-41 victory over Taconic. The win was all the more spectacular given Wahconah Regional's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Taconic is ranked 30th).
Meanwhile, Hoosac Valley put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Wednesday. Everything went their way against South Hadley as Hoosac Valley made off with a 76-50 victory. Hoosac Valley pushed the score to 54-31 by the end of the third, a deficit South Hadley had little chance of recovering from.
The victory got Wahconah Regional back to even at 6-6. As for Hoosac Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Wahconah Regional against Hoosac Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-35 victory. Will Wahconah Regional repeat their success, or does Hoosac Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
