Softball Recap: Girls Prep Has No Trouble Against Bradley Central

Girls Prep not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 17-7 margin over the Bradley Central Bears.

Addison Smith made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Smith was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Girls Prep let Jayla Gladden and Calieah Reyes run wild. Gladden scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5, while Reyes scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Bratcher, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Girls Prep back to even at 1-1. As for Bradley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Girls Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-5 loss against East Hamilton on the 4th. As for Bradley Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-9 win against McMinn County on the 4th.
