The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers lost against the Zachary Broncos back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Woodlawn-B.R. was the victim of a rough 69-48 defeat at the hands of the Broncos. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodlawn-B.R. in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roy Recasner iii, who scored six points along with two steals and two blocks. Christian Johnson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Zachary, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn-B.R. will take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zachary, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Southside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Broncos are ranked fifth).
