The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans at 4:30 p.m. on February 9th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Seven Rivers Christian rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 70-40 win over the Wildcats on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Seven Rivers Christian had established a 22 point advantage.
Seven Rivers Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoey Houle out in front who scored 24 points along with three steals. Joy Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, North Tampa Christian Academy took their match on the road on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 56-20 victory over Classical Prep. Given North Tampa Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Classical Prep is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seven Rivers Christian's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Seven Rivers Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-52 loss to North Tampa Christian Academy in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Seven Rivers Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
