The Hardin Northern Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They suffered a rough 71-49 loss at the hands of Riverside. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Hardin Northern struggled afterwards.
Despite the loss, Hardin Northern had strong showings from Emmah Boose, who scored 18 points, and Alaina Thomas, who scored 12 points along with eight steals. That was a full 36.7% of Hardin Northern's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Perk, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Aubree Huston, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Hardin Northern dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Hardin Northern will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Crestline at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Crestline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to square off against Miami East at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miami East will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
