The Metuchen Bulldogs took a 24-point defeat the last time they faced off against the Kennedy Memorial Mustangs, but they managed to turn things around on Saturday. Metuchen came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy Memorial and snuck past 49-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Metuchen.
Metuchen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Woods, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Woods also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Matt Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Metuchen now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Kennedy Memorial, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Metuchen will head out on the road to square off against Middlesex at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Middlesex is ranked 283rd, while Metuchen is ranked 308th). As for Kennedy Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carteret at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
