On Tuesday, Rivers of Life Christian came up short against Eagle Ridge Christian and fell 43-31. Rivers of Life Christian hasn't had much luck with Eagle Ridge Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Rivers of Life Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ali Thompson, who posted 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Hailey Henrichs, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson School played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Mississippi Valley Christian, falling 47-27.
Rivers of Life Christian will have to keep a close watch on Asha Silva and Izzy Pieroni, a pair of players who had a big impact on Thomas Jefferson School's prior game. Silva put up six points and five steals, while Pieroni earned ten points along with six steals and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Silva a new career-high in assists (three).
Even though they lost, Thomas Jefferson School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive games.
