Basketball Recap: Belgreen Extends Winning Streak to Six

Belgreen waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They secured a 46-40 W over the New Site Royals. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 69-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, New Site saw an underclassman step up: freshman Bella Green posted 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Green has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roxy Marshall, who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Belgreen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for New Site, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Belgreen and Tharptown will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for New Site, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
