The Del Campo Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 76-51 defeat at the hands of Capital Christian. Del Campo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-21.
When it comes to explaining why Del Campo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javi Sidhu. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Niko Wedderburn, who scored eight points.
Del Campo has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Capital Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Campo will challenge Vista del Lago at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Capital Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Christian Brothers focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
