There's no place like home for the Escondido Charter White Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Orange Glen 74-47 at home. Given Escondido Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Orange Glen is ranked 1178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Escondido Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Mowrey led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was Mowrey's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Pincock, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Escondido Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Orange Glen, the last time they won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost four straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 1-6.
Escondido Charter will challenge Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest SD will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Orange Glen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Dieguito Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
