The biggest upset of the week belonged to Monticello, who took down 321st ranked Monticello, 28-21.
Saugerties was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Section 9 A. Earlier in the week, the Sawyers triumphed over the Sawyers 35-0.
Cornwall Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mike White threw for 256 and four touchdowns and Chris Bauer had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Klayton Kelly chipped in 47 yards. Matt Robinson helped Cornwall Central's passing attack out by catching two balls for 55 yards.
Cornwall Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. White has thrown for 735 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Alex Cruz has 11 catches for 259 yards. Luke Zsido leads the league in rushing with 294 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Dragons take on Saugerties. Cornwall Central's offense has recorded 149 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Lee Meisinger's team has permitted only 127 on the year.
A big matchup in Section 9 A this week will be when Marcus Hughes's team takes on the Sawyers. At the moment, the Dragons are in first, while Saugerties is in fourth.
Cornwall Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Red Hook, 56-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Dragons.
