Baseball Recap: St. Stanislaus Extends Winning Streak to Two

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Stanislaus had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the McLaurin Tigers get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Rock-a-Chaws might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Parker Stewart made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tate Murphy was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Wiley Mossy, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

St. Stanislaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Stanislaus and bumps their season record up to 18-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for McLaurin, they dropped their record down to 14-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

As of now, neither St. Stanislaus nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
