Softball Recap: Hill Country Christian Gets the Win

Hill Country Christian won against Concordia last Tuesday with 23 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Hill Country Christian Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand the San Marcos Academy Bears a 23-0 shutout. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

S Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Martinez was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, S Hill was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was S Barrett, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hill Country Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for San Marcos Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Hill Country Christian and San Marcos Academy will both be playing Bishop Reicher Catholic the next time they take the field. Hill Country Christian will head out to face Bishop Reicher Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th, while San Marcos Academy will host them at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th.
