In other batting news, First Academy got a massive performance out of Cason Cherry, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Cherry has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Bryan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
The win made it two in a row for First Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Leesburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
