On Tuesday, Cornerstone Christian earned a 50-39 victory over New Hope. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cornerstone Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while New Hope is ranked 105th).
Cornerstone Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Gassner out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Gassner set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Adams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Cornerstone Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for New Hope, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. New Hope's road trip will continue as they head out to face Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Kate Duncan Smith DAR has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 394 points over their last six matches.
