Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Walthill

Walthill had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Omaha Christian Academy on Friday. The Walthill Blujays were the clear victor by a 63-37 margin over the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles. The win was familiar territory for the Blujays who have now won three matchups in a row.

Walthill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khirstin Wolfe led the charge by going 8 for 13 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Wolfe is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Tangela Randol was another key player, putting up 12 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Walthill was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Walthill pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walthill will venture away from home to challenge Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walthill is facing Randolph at the right time seeing as Randolph is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Heartland Christian on Thursday.
