Reagan County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Wink recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Reagan County will be playing at home against Wink at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Reagan County sitting on seven straight victories and Wink on four.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Reagan County duked it out with Van Horn on Saturday. Reagan County was the clear victor by a 21-4 margin over Van Horn. Considering the Owls have won 12 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklynn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Vanessa Ortiz was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Cervantes, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.
Reagan County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Wink hadn't done well against Ozona recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Wink sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over Ozona.
Like Reagan County, Wink also got a great game from a two-way player: Viviana Flores. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits were Flores' first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brelynn Bowden, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Kaylee Jones was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Reagan County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.7 runs over those games. As for Wink, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Reagan County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .548. However, it's not like Wink struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Reagan County took their victory against Wink in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4. Will Reagan County repeat their success, or does Wink has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
