The New Dorp Central Cougars were the 56-0 winner over the Kennedy Knights when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. New Dorp fell to Kennedy 38-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kennedy's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jakeem Griffith, who rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Derik Betances was another key contributor, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
New Dorp's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
New Dorp will be playing at home against Wagner at 12:00 p.m. on November 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Wagner is ranked 192nd, while New Dorp is ranked 211th). As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Richmond at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Port Richmond will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
