Martin Castillo Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Odem's Martin Castillo, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Castillo rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (102) per game. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards.
Odem's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Castillo and Odem will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Banquete at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

Teagan Collins Delivers Best Performance of Season
George West was led to victory by Teagan Collins, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Collins threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
The win (which was George West's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Collins will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Santa Rosa on Friday.

Hinojosa Made His Presence Known in Odem's 61-7 Win
The second Odem player making an appearance here is John Hinojosa, and for good reason. He rushed for 112 yards and four touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 104 rushing yards dating back to last season.
This year, Hinojosa has run in 21 touchdowns while averaging 128.5 rushing yards per game.

Dylan Thomisee and Co. Win Fifth in a Row
Dylan Thomisee was instrumental in extending George West's winning streak to five on Friday. Nobody could stop Thomisee as he forced two fumbles and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
This year, Thomisee has averaged 6.4 total tackles per game.

Jj Anaya Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Jj Anaya of Santa Rosa. Anaya rushed for 113 yards.
Anaya might have his next game, a home matchup with George West, circled on his calendar. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Anaya saw the Longhorns), he rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
