The Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors and the Cornwall Central Dragons squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors had to settle for second. Our Lady of Lourdes was outmatched by Cornwall Central on the road and fell 47-8. While losing is never fun, Our Lady of Lourdes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Cornwall Central is ranked 40th).
Jaiden Laureano had a dynamite game for Cornwall Central, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and four touchdowns. Dylan Verswyveld did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 67 receiving yards.
Our Lady of Lourdes now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cornwall Central, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Our Lady of Lourdes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cornwall Central will face off against Niskayuna at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Niskayuna is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
