The Alcona Tigers came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Oscoda. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Alcona also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Alcona was led to victory by David Sharboneau and Evan Borsvold. Sharboneau scored ten points, while Borsvold scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Alcona pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Oscoda, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcona will face off against Mio-Au Sable at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oscoda, they will head out on the road to square off against Heston Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
