Gatewood has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Brentwood War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gatewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Brentwood is ranked 84th).
Last Tuesday, Gatewood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-31 to Westminster Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, Brentwood entered their tilt with Piedmont Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brentwood came out on top against Piedmont Academy by a score of 59-50 on Tuesday.
Brentwood found their leader in underclassman Cadence English, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. English hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 22 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Archer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Gatewood's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Brentwood, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
