The Leadership Academy Falcons can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 43-11 stomp they got at home against Trinity. That looming 43-11 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Leadership Academy yet this season.
Leading Leadership Academy to victory were Emmy Guldberg and Brooke Swigert. Guldberg scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Swigert scored 16 points along with five steals. Swigert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brenna Lauten, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Leadership Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Trinity, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leadership Academy and Bethany will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bethany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Leadership Academy is ranked 224th). As for Trinity, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Uwharrie Charter at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Uwharrie Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday.
