Newton took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against West Vigo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Vikings 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Drake Wolf, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of David Ferguson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for West Vigo, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Newton will face off against Vincennes Lincoln at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Vigo, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Tri-West Hendricks at 11:00 a.m.
