Columbia has gone 8-2 against Emmett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will face off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Columbia will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
It was a proper cat-fight when Columbia challenged Caldwell on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Gabe Tanner made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Columbia is 2-1 when Tanner allows three or fewer hits, but 3-10 otherwise. Tanner was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Harrison, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Columbia: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-10 otherwise. Brody Springer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Columbia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Emmett lost 14-4 to Vallivue on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Ryder Scheibe was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Casey Coburn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Emmett's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Columbia, their record now sits at 5-11.
Columbia was able to grind out a solid victory over Emmett when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
