Kingfisher hasn't had much luck against Guthrie recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Guthrie will be up against a hot Kingfisher team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Yellowjackets' pitchers stepped up to hand Douglass a 10-0 shutout on Monday.
Jagger Braun made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Collin Farrar was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Henley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Kingfisher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .812. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Guthrie won against El Reno on Monday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bluejays were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Indians.
Like Kingfisher, Guthrie also got a great game from a two-way player: Daelon Rice. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). Rice has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Owen Wilder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Easton Smedley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.
Kingfisher's record is now 17-12. As for Guthrie, their record now sits at an identical 17-12.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kingfisher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Guthrie struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kingfisher suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Guthrie in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
