First Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Brunswick Christian Academy Eagles a 13-0 shutout. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Brayden Pedersen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Colin Preston was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two RBI.

First Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

First Christian pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
