The Fort Stockton Panthers and the Perryton Rangers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Fort Stockton Panthers had to settle for second. Fort Stockton took a serious blow against Perryton, falling 58-27. Fort Stockton's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Fort Stockton still got an impressive performance from Corbin Luna, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perryton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Schilling, who threw for 462 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 77.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Cervantes, who picked up 179 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Fort Stockton's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Perryton, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Fort Stockton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Perryton is on the road again on Friday and play against Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Glen Rose knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Perryton likes a good challenge.
