The Del City Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coweta 43-14 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-7.
Del City was led to victory by River Warren and Rodney Fields. Warren threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while Fields rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Fields has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played.
Del City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Coweta, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Del City will take on Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durant is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Coweta, they will head out on the road to face off against Memorial on Friday. Memorial has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 17.
